Collection includes correspondence concerning the work, publications and family life of Richard Henry Edwards. Also, diaries, notebooks, accounts, photographs, pamphlets, sermons, articles, lectures and poems. Other material pertains to courses he taught in Bible study, religion and counseling at Syracuse University, Southern Methodist University, Chicago Theological Seminary, the University of Chicago Divinity School, and Texas Pastors' School at Dallas. Collection also includes papers of Mrs. Edwards, which consist of personal letters, exam books from Western Reserve University, and items relating to her teaching at the John Dewey Practice School at the University of Chicago, including a photograph album. Correspondence with her sister Katherine Camp Mayhew relates to their book on the Dewey School. There is also printed and manuscript material on their family genealogies and on the history of Lisle. Also, account books for cattle and lumbering, Lisle, Broome County. Correspondents include Jane Addams, John Dewey, G. Sherwood Eddy, John R. Mott, and Walter Rauschenbusch.
